Richard Mowrey is President of Management Services & Development, Ltd., a firm which provides private business valuation, value engineering, and merger and acquisition services to closely-held businesses.

Richard specialized in the valuation, value planning, and sale of "mid-sized" businesses. In addition, Richard personally supervises strategic acquisition searches for selected client corporations. Mr. Mowrey has been and continues to be an active member of the board of directors of a number of close-held business. He brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience from his personal business ownership over the years, has varied direct management responsibilities, and has advisory experiences in start-up companies, turn-around situations, and tranactional management.

Richard holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Prior to starting Management Services & Development, Ltd. in 1979, he served as an engineering manager and financial analyst for several fortune five-hundred corporations. In addition, Richard has taught at Wentworth Institute of Technology, Rollins College, and IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania).

Richard is a "Fellow of the IBBA" and holds certifications as follows:

• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Certified Management Accountants,
• Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) from the Institute of Business Appraisers
• Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) from the International Business Brokers Association.

It was Richard's experience from counseling businesses in the process of an ownership transition that prompted the development of the MergerMentor.com Site. He felt that business owners could benefit significantly from early access to comprehensive, professional information that could be used to increase the value of their businesses. This need for an educational delivery system to provide business owner's with full control of useful information led to the development of the MergerMentor.com Membership Website.

This site in design for business owners by Richard to save time, immediately grant access to valuation and tranaction information, checklists, and tools, as well as to provide expanded educational business offerings. With the information easily available, the business owner can develop her or his own educational plan to gain the knowledge to help improve the business performance of their business and position it for an effective ownership transfer when the time is right.
